CS 373 Spring 2021 Week 4: Tanmay Singh
1.) What did you do this past week?
I didn’t really do that much this week. I had finished most of the projects and assignments that were due last week this week so I’ve been pretty free. I’ve just been working on things as they come.
2.) What is in your way?
Honestly, not much was in my way this week as well. I had finished most of my projects so this week was pretty free. I’m a little worried about having random groups but I’m sure everything will be fine and work out well.
3.) What will you do next week?
Next week, I will most likely set up some meetings with my SWE group so we can start brainstorming ideas for projects and start working on them. I’ll also do the weekly paper and blog as usual.
4.) If you read it, what did you think of Pair Programming?
I’ve been in multiple classes that use Pair Programming as a big part of projects. I’m very familiar with what is expected from people in a group setting. The paper just verified most of the stuff that I already knew.
5.) What was your experience of types?
I have a good understanding of types, especially in Java. I’ve been working for Java for multiple years and am confident in the types and properties of data structures in Java. However, in Python, I’m not as comfortable. I learned a lot from the lectures we had on Wednesday and Friday and am looking to strengthen my knowledge on types in Python.
8.) What made you happy this week?
I had a lot of free time this week. I went home this week so I got to see my parents. I got tested many times before to make sure that my parents would be safe. My parents also got their first COVID vaccine so I’m happy about that as well.
9.) What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?
My pick of the week is another NVIDIA AI tool. It's in the research process right now and it is a new powerful AI model that and generates a fully functional version of PAC-MAN without an underlying game engine. These kinds of software make me really excited about AI in the future.
